Lots to fill you in on and so much fun stuff coming up!
First off, I had a magnificent time last weekend at Edge Lit in Derby. It was my first visit and honestly, it’s one of the best conventions I’ve been to. Everyone was so friendly and everything ran so smoothly and I suspect this was due to Mr Alex Davis’ astonishing efforts. Thanks to Alex and all the volunteers that helped make the day a success. I hope to be back next year.
I’m really excited to be at Goldsboro Books’ Fantasy in the Court, a yearly event that takes place in the beautiful Cecil Court, London. There’s books and wine and SO many authors – it’s always a great night. This year it’s being sponsored by my publisher, Tor UK, who sent me this very pretty header to share with you.
There’s already an awesome line-up with more authors still to be confirmed. See here for the full list and to buy tickets.
Hot on the heels of FITC, it’s Nine Worlds! I’m doing a lot this year, so I should be easy to find.*
There may even be advance copies of Heartland available to purchase, which I will of course gleefully sign. I am so excited to share this next part of Kyndra’s story with you and hope you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.**
You can find my schedule on the Nine Worlds page, but I’ll be posting it here nearer the time.
Megan, Charlotte and I will be doing a special live Nine Worlds edition of Breaking the Glass Slipper with TWO debut authors – Anna Smith Spark (The Court of Broken Knives, Harper Voyager) and RJ Barker (Age of Assassins, Orbit). That’s on Friday 4th at 3.15 pm. Come for the discussion, stay for these babies.
I’ll be carrying a stash of them around with me and will give them out to the best audience questions!
Artist Philip Harris has worked his magic on two of Heartland’s characters. I shared the first a few days ago – here it is if you missed it! This post has the full image, more info on Char and a short extract.
The second character will be going up on Tor’s website alongside chapter 1 in August.
Don’t forget to sign up to my newsletter, which I’ll be sending out in the next few days. In it, I’ll be posting advance details about my August giveaways. And they will be SO MUCH MORE than ordinary giveaways!
If you’re in the Westcountry, I’ll be doing a Heartland reading at Bristolcon Fringe on 21st August. There’ll be books (and loose leaf tea) available courtesy of Books on the Hill, who have just launched a separate website specialising in SFF! It would be lovely to see you there.
Until then, keep up to date with me on Twitter and FB, where I’ll be announcing more events as they’re scheduled 🙂
All best guys
