While thinking about my upcoming novel Starborn’s edits today, I came up against the question of narrative voice. This has to be the most important structural element of any story. Most are written in first or third person, while second is more unusual. These distinct modes determine how a story is told. Not only does narrative voice dictate what the reader is allowed to see, it directly affects a reader’s relationship with a book and its characters.
